| Max is a collection of molecules, arranged loosely in a hierarchy of love. With individual tasks delegated elegantly, they all strifishly strive for a common goal. This goal includes, but is not limited to, the formation of an individual constantly in beta. One whose words, thoughts, and actions transcend the boundaries of the present, realize the past, and fornicate the future... Full of good intentions, Max is holding on to something possible each day. In this life he has been chosen to lead, he takes pride in upsetting the ordinary and questioning the mundane. In these attempts, he finds it difficult to get across that his intent is not difference for the sake of difference, but difference with the sincere belief that the world is in dire need of it. Born in Oceanside California to two unsuspecting parents, Max never enjoyed playing with action figures. He did, however, have a certain fondness for such common child interests such as video games, bouncy balls, *censored, the paranormal, food, and friendship. Moving to Arizona, he quickly found himself obese and in the 4th grade. This unlikely combination led him to his first encounter with isolation, depression, and challenging artistic portrayals of his emotions. Relatively afterwards, many shaping, hilarious, and intriguing events occurred but for the sake of brevity they will not be mentioned here. Finding himself increasingly alone-feeling, a series of chance encounters with the avant-garde and envelope-pushing movements of psychedelic lesbian aerobic electronica, technologically-enhanced 21st century retellings of greek plays, compendiums of complete world knowledge, incredibly awesome people (read: his friends and family), strange relics from the past, men, women, AND children led him to realize that he is NOT alone in his interests and mindset. This realization is a gradual process he is still in and aims to assist others in reaching. High school has provided a challenge. When immersed in the sloganized, categorized, and commercialized individuality he finds silly, being one's self is truly an undertaking for anyone. Those successful at true self-being are precisely the any ones' Max looks to surround himself with (or, as the great obese queer dyke Jew amputee Nomy Lamm once put it, "I want a family of perverts and freaks, pirates and anarchists and high school drops outs") . Currently, he can be found dreaming of a future in which he has found inner peace and a way to share it with others. |
